Private Reserve Ink Bottle – Buttercup

Bright, expressive yellow for joyful notes

The Private Reserve Ink Bottle – Buttercup brings a lively, sunlit yellow to your pages. This cheerful hue recalls fresh flower petals and adds warmth to headings, marginalia, sketches, and decorative scripts. Its clear, upbeat tone excels where emphasis and creative expression matter more than dense body text, making it a spirited choice for journals, planners, and illustrated notes.

Color and use

Buttercup offers a warm, golden-leaning yellow that stands out best on bright white or lightly cream papers. Broader nibs, wetter feeds, and italic or flex setups help the color read with greater presence and shading, while fine nibs produce subtle, translucent accents. Use it to highlight key ideas, layer gentle washes in artwork, or bring a sunny counterpoint to darker inks in your rotation.

Writing experience

Private Reserve is known among enthusiasts for smooth, consistent flow, and Buttercup follows suit. The dye-based formulation is fountain-pen friendly and pairs well with most modern papers. Routine pen hygiene is recommended with any vibrant ink; for maximum legibility, test on your preferred paper and consider a wider nib when writing longer passages.
